
Mary Malagodi begins her twenty-fiftth year as Director of Driscoll Extended Day. Mary has a Master's Degree in Education, and taught elementary school for eight years. Before joining DEDP, she was Director of the Family Life Education Department at Laboure Center in South Boston and Director of the Parent/Child Center in Waltham. Mary was born and raised in Spokane, Washington and enjoys singing, dancing, reading and traveling. She has a son Peter and is the proud “Nani” of Jaden (4) and Oliver (2) Malagodi. She looks forward to continuing to provide a rich, safe and exciting environment for the children in DEDP.
Jessica Adler returns for her third year at DEDP. She is a graduate of Emmanuel College where she majored in Studio Art and Elementary Eduation. She has worked with children ranging in age from 2-16, including work as assistant director of an art camp in New Milford, Connecticut. Jessica enjoys sharing her love of art, design, gardening, cooking (and eating) and is excited to build on her experience from the past two years.
Julie Corwin is thrilled to be starting her 3nd year as the PreK Program Coordinator and lead teacher for the PreK-2 program. She comes with over 10 years of experience working with young children and is certified as an Early Childhood educator. Passions include dancing, improv dance and drama, travel exploration and bringing out the creative and authentic spirits of children.
Ken Fass is pleased to begin his third year with the DEDP program. Ken has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and is certified to teach Kindergarten through 6th grade. Before joining the DEDP program, he attended York College of Pennsylvania and was a member of the Men’s Basketball team. During his high school and college summers, Ken has worked at several summer camps with children ranging from the ages of 4 to 15 years old. He looks forward to contributing again to the safe, well-rounded and exciting environment that already exists in the DEDP program.
Ben Fishkin is currently a senior at Wheelock College. Before that he worked at the Driscoll PreSchool as an Aide and at BSSCC (Brookline School Staff Children’s Center). Ben has also substituted in and around Brookline and worked in various camps and programs. He enjoys working with computers, reading books and watching movies. Ben grew up in Brookline and is happy to be starting his 3nd year at DEDP. He will also be student teaching in Jen Doubilet’s 2nd grade class at Driscoll School.
Carlos Fuentes returns for his eleventh year at DEDP and will be teaching in the program a few days a week. Before joining DEDP, Carlos was a 5th grade teacher in his native El Salvador, worked as an Outreach Worker for immigrants in Austin, Texas and was a counselor in the Boys and Girls Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Carlos has a passion for playing and teaching chess to children. He loves to dance and shares this interest in conducting dance clubs at Driscoll. He is also enthusiastic about his morning job as a medical interpreter for Latin American immigrants in the Boston area.
Aaron Gray is excited to begin his sixth full year on the DEDP staff. A graduate of UMASS Amherst, Aaron worked as a student aide in a third grade classroom at Driscoll before coming to DEDP four years ago. He enjoys reading, writing and exploring science and looks forward to sharing these interests with the children of DEDP. Aaron is currently taking classes towards a Masters degree in School Psychology. This will be his third year as a team member of the 3/4/5 grade group at DEDP.
Carina Grenham is very happy to be returning to DEDP. She is trying to publish her children’s books and get a recording contract with her indie rock band. She has worked with K-5 children in California, Western Mass, New Mexico and Cambridge. She is very excited to start her 2nd year with Driscoll Extended Day.
Yota Kariotis is very happy to be back teaching at D.E.D.P. twice a week. She’ll be spending the rest of her week teaching in the Driscoll Art room and in graduate school at Massachusetts College of Art.
Vinny LaFrazia is thrilled to be returning to Driscoll Extended Day for his fourteenth year. He is excited to share his passion for cooking and woodworking with all the children and continuing as the Assistant Director. Before coming to DEDP, Vinny spent many years working with children in organized sports and marching bands throughout Massachusetts and Maine.
Wendy Lewis is happy to be returning for her fourteenth year in DEDP. She especially looks forward to working with children in clubs. Wendy brings over twenty-five years of experience working with children as an art teacher and afterschool teacher. In the mornings, she works in her studio in Newton.
